Cllr. Mohammed Hanif
Oakridge and Castlefield
I arrived in England in 1971 and since then lived in High Wycombe. I am married, have three grown up children who went to local schools and are now working. I have been a district councillor from Oakridge and Castlefield ward since 2011. It has been an honour to hold that role and work for the local residents. I served as town mayor during 2015-16 and it was such a privilege to work with schools, local charities and see the excellent work that goes on in the volunteer sector.
I have been a school governor at Castlefield, Millbrook and have recently joined the governing body at Oakridge School. Also as Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths Ambassador, I help local primary and secondary schools with science events and career seminars.
I have recently retired from a managerial role with a major multinational company. I have the energy and enthusiasm to make a difference hence devote time for dealing with local concerns and issues. I believe that the appropriate and sustainable growth must be supported by improvements to infrastructure. I aim to bring voices of the residents who we work for, opinions and ideas from businesses who we work with and fight for the core services we need to protect.
High Wycombe should continue to be vibrant and prosperous. Prosperity of the Town can be increased by effective marketing of its unique heritage and better co-ordination of businesses and industry.
While not afraid of conflict I enjoy team working at a nuts and bolts level and at the same time most willing to listen and learn from others
