In the last financial year, Bucks Healthcare NHS Trust spent 10.9 million more than its budget. This is the Trust that runs the hospitals in Bucks. In other words, Bucks hospitals ran at a loss last year of £10.9 million.
Nationally the NHS Trusts overspent by a staggering £2.45 billion last year – a record.
Incredibly, next year, Bucks Healthcare NHS Trust plans to overspend by £8.8 million. Yes – that’s right it plans to overspend. And it will do this by borrowing. The Trust as you might suspect has a cash flow problem. Madness.
